setting Messages Rules


  There are few good reason why you should set rules for your Incoming emails.One could be to keep your email well ordered and in the same time keep the folders smallBut that is beyond the scope of this tip and here is what you have to do to fix these rules:

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Click on Tools and select Messages Rules > Mail


  3. Tools Messages Rules

  4. On the next window in the first pane You have to choose how to make your selection (in this case I selected Where the from line contains people)
  5. .
  6. In the second pane select the action you want by clicking on the square box next to it


  7. Mail rules

  8. Click the underlined hyperlinks in the Rule Description section to specify the conditions or actions for your rule.  First click on contains People and this window appear:


  9. Select People

  10. You can type an email Address in the first box and then click add but it's better use the address book by clicking on the button,choose all the contacts you want to add to this rule and press OK
  11. You will be returned on the previous page,click on specified folder this time
  12. Select the folder that you want this group of senders be in,and press OK (you can create a new folder if you need it)
  13. You will be returned on the previous page>Press OK

  15. On this window you can see the new rule,select it.
  16. Click Apply Now and all the emails in the Inbox folder that match the from address with the addresses you got in this rule,will be automatically moved to the folder linked to the rule,and the same every time one of these people sends you an email.
