Windows xp Tips
If you reduce the number of programs that Windows automatically loads when it starts up you will find that your computer starts more quickly and it will be running better.Let us start.
To get rid of these programs you have to use a utility called msconfig:

  1. Click Start > Run
  2. Type msconfig in the text box and click OK or press enter The System Configuration Utility Opens like the following click the Startup tab:

  3. System Configuration Utility

  4. In the Startup Item column  there is a list of programs with a checkmark on the far left.If this program has a checkmark , it means that Windows launch it each time you start the computer,so to prevent a program to be loaded at start up , just uncheck the box next to that program.

  5. Tips

    • Uncheck all the multimedia programs like Real Player,Nero,Acrobat Reader.

    • Leave all  processes regarding Windows and Microsoft office.

    • Also allow antivirus programs like Norton,AVG,and any antispyware or firewall running on your computer.

    • Leave any program related to your printer,so,if you have a Canon printer then do not delete any process related to Canon.

  6.  When you finish and you left only the programs that you want to start when Windows starts, click Apply.
  7. Click OK

  8. Tips

    • To be sure about which program to disable, get the name of the program, visit this site http://www.processlibrary.com Type the name of the program in the Search box and click Search Now.You should be taken to a page where you can findout whether that program is to be left running or not..

  9. The message box below alerts you to restart the computer for the changes to take effects.Click Restart .

  10. msconfig Restart

  11. When Windows starts again, you can see a message like the one following, which advices you  that you changed the way Windows starts.Just tick the box next to "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts".
  12.

    System conf Utility 3 message
