Windows xp Tips
For some reason you might want to delete a file and you not able to.When you try to delete it you get a message "Unable to delete or rename "myfile." because in use to another application. Close any program that might be using the file and try again"

ake sure for the following:
  •  There is not any sharing violation
  • The file or folder is not in use by another program or user
  • The  disk is not full or write-protected
  • The destination file might be in use
  • If you can't delete the file yet then the file may be corrupted, so try this:
    1. 1> Close any program running
    2. 2> Restart your computer
    3. 3> Try to delete it now
    4.      If unsuccessful then
    5. 4> restart your computer and when it starts booting press F8
      1. to get the Windows Advanced Options Menu
    6. 5 >Select Safe Mode to start Windows and press enter
    7. 6> when,after few minutes, the login screen appears type your           username and password ( if you have one) and press enter.Remember that you must have Administrator privilege .
    8. 7>Now you are logged in in a safe mode.Locate the file you wanted to delete and try to do it now.
    9. 8> If your efforts were successful just restart your computer in a normal Windows mode.If you not just get the advise of an expert IT professional
    10. to do the job.
