How to Install IIS 7on Windows Vista



    • Install IIS 7 on Vista

    .As IIS 7 is not installed by default on Vista,you will have to install it .Follow this step by step tutorial.

     

    1. First step ,go to Start / Control panel / Programs and Features
    2. Then Click on Turn Windows features off or on on the left pane ( see Fig 1)

      3. Envirements Variables Edit

    3. In Turn Windows features off or on (Fig 2) Select Internet Information Service and expand it. Make sure to select the following features:
      Web Management Tool ,World Wide web service ,
      .Net Extensibility
      Asp.net
      CGI
      ISAPI Extensions
      ISAPI Filters
      See as example the fig 2 below

       

      4. System variable New

       



    4. click OK and Vista should be able to install IIS 7 with not problems.
    5. To test your web server , open your browser and type http://localhost in the address bar,you should be able to see the IIS welcome page.If you do ,everything is OK.

     Hi Dear, I already to follow your step but unfortunately Im couldn't find following feature like : - Asp.net CGI ISAPI Extensions ISAPI Filters. please help to resolve my problem, thanks alot

     Hi fachrul, Before you start the instalation of IIS 7 you must select the Asp.net CGI ISAPI Extensions ISAPI Filters.If you just follow what is on this page you won't have any problem. Good luck

     Hi there i have the same problem i can just see .Net extensibility in my application development features and i cant see the rest can u tell me why is that?
