How to edit the Registry

   The Registry file is one of the most important file of your system. It's where Windows stores all the configuration informations about software, hardware, users, and it is , silently and continuously ,updated. This article is only an approach on the basis of editing the registry. However, the first rule is backup the file before you start doing whatsoever and you'll never get in trouble,

  1. Exit Click Start / Run or Windows logo key + R and Type regedit in the box and press Enter ( see Fig 1)
  2.  The Registry Editor opens(See Fig 2)To navigate through the keys use the tree in the left pane
  3.  The To backup the Registry before you start editing,Click File / Export and follow the prompt.Save the file in a easy to remember location like C:\Registry_Backup
  4.  To start editing the value on the Data column just double click the row on the right pane  (see Fig 2)
  5.  One of the two (Fig.3 or Fig.4)opens, and provided you know what you are doing,it's easy editing the value.
  6. Now click Ok and close all open window.
