Drivers Maintenance in Vista

   Sometimes a faulty driver can be the cause of system crashes or instability,on this page you can find few tips to help you manage your devices drivers..

  1. Click on Start /Control Panel/ System and on the left pane click Device Manager .


  2. A window opens     (See Fig.1) where you can see a list of your devices installed on the computer.


  3. Right-click the device you want and choose Properties(See fig.1)


  4. On the next window you can have a look at the driver situation,(See Fig.2)


  5. Then,click on Driver tab and update Driver (See Fig.3)


  6. In the next window you can locate the driver on your computer manually or let the wizard look for it,also on the Internet if you are connected(See Fig.4)


  7. In case something goes wrong or the device has problems, click on Rollback and Windows brigs you back to the previous driverSee Fig.3)


  8. Close all opened windows







     Tips

  • You can also disable a device from here without physically removing it.If two devices are competing for the same resources, for example.
  • Try to disable one of them
  • To disable a device,click disable (See Fig3) a down arrow appears next to the device
  • Restart your computer
