How to check the Hard Drive for errors

   System crashes, power failure, or any other improper shut down of your computer may cause hardware problems and specially at your hard drive. These disk defects could be the cause of system instability ,loss of data,file corruption and more.You may try to fix all this,running Check disk when your computer starts to be weird, it won't do any harm anyway.

  1. Exit all programs you are running
  2. Click start / Computer. then right-click the drive you want to check and choose properties Tools tab(See Fig.1)
  3. In the second window ,check Automatically Fix File System errors to force Windows repair any errors it finds,if not Windows only reports errors.  (see Fig 2)
  4. Check Scan for attempt Recovery of Bad Sectors to force Windows recover any readable files it finds in bad sectors and it will move them somewhere else.This option also fixes errors. (See Fig.2)
  5. Now click start on Fig 2 to begin the process.When Check Disk has completed you will be notified of everything that has been done.
