To check these files without any problems of codecs you need a video player like VLC MediaPlayer that can play almost everything,you can get it for free from http://www.download-all-area.com/vlcplayer/ .Install the software and open it:

Click File/Open and then browse to the video you just downloaded and click ok

Congratulation you"re now able to see if the film it's worth downloading.
